About Me
To live in a way that allows for joy, love, and adventure, we are inevitably vulnerable to pain, stress, and loss. As a result, we encounter times in our lives when we need a safe and supportive space to process our experiences and emotions, develop and practice coping skills, and create renewed energy and hope.
I believe you are the expert on yourself and whether you are experiencing a new or ongoing issue, I am glad you are seeking additional support to help you move forward. I provide a safe space so together we can identify the stressors impacting you and build skills to help you cope, renew your hope for change, and find and foster your strengths. I provide a supportive and genuine therapeutic relationship with a commitment to give non-judgmental listening, honesty, humor, and direct feedback. I draw from a variety of evidence based and clinical therapy modalities to find the best fit for you.
I earned my Master of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago and have nearly 15 years of experience working as a clinical social worker. I hold certification as a grief counselor (The American Academy of Grief Counseling and Evergreen Certifications). I have additional training in grief and loss, trauma, compassion fatigue, and anxiety. Through my years of experience I have developed the following areas of speciality:
Grief and Loss (including anticipatory grief, loss of a loved one, perinatal loss, loss or change of relationship status, change in job/home location, and life transitions)
Compassion Fatigue
Sudden or chronic illness (self or a loved one)
Anxiety
Mild to moderate depression
(I do not specialize in those with substance use disorders, severe depression, or severe mental illness. If you feel you are in need of services for these specific areas, I am happy to try to refer you to others in the community who may better meet your needs).
I offer a free 20-minute consultation call to learn more about each other and to see if this feels like a good fit moving forward.
Whether I am the right fit for you, or you keep looking, I encourage you to continue to seek the support you need.
